Our Government

1) Of the five major banks, only one is multi-racial, the rest are controlled by Malays.

(2) 99% of Petronas directors are Malays.

(3) 3% of Petronas employees are Chinese.

(5) 100% all contractors working under Petronas projects must be of Bumis status.

(6) 0% of non-Malay staff are legally required in Malay companies. But there must be 30% Malay staffs in Chinese companies.

(8) 2% is the present Chinese staff in Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF), a drop from 40% in 1960.

(9) 2% is the percentage of non-Malay government servants in Putrajaya, but Malays make up 98%.

(10) 7% is the percentage of Chinese government servants in the entire government (in 2004); a drop from 30% in 1960.

(11) 95% of government contracts are given to Malays.

(12) 100% all business licensees are controlled by Malay government, e.g. Taxi permits, Approved permits, etc.

(13) 80% of the Chinese rice millers in Kedah had to be sold to Malay controlled Bernas in 1980s. Otherwise, life is made difficult for Chinese rice millers.

(14) 100 big companies set up, owned and managed by Chinese Malaysians were taken over by government, and later managed by Malays since 1970s, e.g. UTC, UMBC, MISC, etc.

(15) At least 10 Chinese owned bus companies (throughout Malaysia in the past 40 years) had to be sold to MARA or other Malay transport companies due to rejection by Malay authorities to Chinese applications for bus routes and rejection for their applications for new buses.

(16) Two Chinese taxi drivers were barred from driving in Johor Larkin bus station. There are about 30 taxi drivers and three were Chinese in Oct. 2004. Spoiling taxi club properties was the reason given.

(17) 0 non-Malays are allowed to get shop lots in the new Muar bus station (Nov. 2004).

(18) 8000 billion ringgit is the total amount the government channeled to Malay pockets through ASB, ASN, MARA, privatization of government agencies, Tabung Haji etc, through NEP over a 34 years period.

(19) 48 Chinese primary schools closed down from 1968 - 2000.

(20) 144 Indian primary schools closed down from 1968 - 2000.

(21) 2637 Malay primary schools built from 1968 - 2000.

(22) 2.5% is government budget for Chinese primary schools. Indian schools got only 1%, Malay schools got 96.5%.

(23) While a Chinese parent with RM1000 salary (monthly) cannot get school textbook loan, a Malay parent with RM2000 salary is eligible.

(24) All 10 public university vice chancellors are Malays.

(25) 5% of the government universities’ lecturers are of non-Malay origins. This percentage has been reduced from about 70% in 1965 to only 5% in 2004.

(26) Only 5% has been given to non-Malays for government scholarships in over 40 years.

(27) 0 Chinese or Indians were sent to Japan and Korea under the “Look East Policy.”

(28) 128 STPM Chinese top students could not get into the course to which they aspired, i.e. Medicine (in 2004).

(29) 10% quotas are in place for non-Bumi students for MARA science schools beginning in 2003, but only 7% are filled. Before that it was 100% Malays.

(30) 50 cases in which Chinese and Indian Malaysians are beaten up in the National Service program in 2003.

(31) 25% of the Malaysian population was Chinese in 2004, a drop from 45% in 1957.

(32) 7% of the Malaysian population is Indian (2004), a drop from 12% in 1957.

(33) 2 million Chinese Malaysians have emigrated in the past 40 years.

(34) 0.5 million Indian Malaysians have emigrated overseas.

(35) 3 millions Indonesians have migrated to Malaysia and become Malaysian citizens with Bumis status.

(36) 600,000 Chinese and Indian Malaysians with red IC were rejected repeatedly when applying for citizenship in the past 40 years. Perhaps 60% of them had already passed away due to old age. This shows racism, based on how easily Indonesians got their citizenships compared with the Chinese and Indians.

(37) 5% - 15% discount for a Malay to buy a house, regardless whether the Malay is rich or poor.

(38) 2% is what new Chinese villages get, compared with 98% - what Malay villages got for rural development budget.

(39) 50 road names (at least) had been changed from Chinese names to other names.

(40) 1 Dewan Gan Boon Leong (in Malacca) was altered to another name (e.g. Dewan Serbaguna or something like that) when it was only officially used for a few days. The government tries to shun Chinese names. This example of racism occurred around 2000.

(41) 0 temples/churches were built for each housing estate. But every housing estate got at least one mosque/surau built.

(42) 3000 mosques/surau were built in all housing estates throughout Malaysia since 1970. No temples or churches are required to be built in housing estates.

(46) 30 government produced TV dramas and films always showed that the bad guys had Chinese faces, and the good guys had Malay faces. You can check it out since 1970s. Recent years, this has become less of a tendency.

(47) 10 times, at least, Malays (especially Umno) had threatened to massacre the Chinese Malaysians using May 13, since 1969.

(48) 20 constituencies won by DAP would not get funds from the government to develop. These Chinese majority constituencies would be the last to be developed.

(49) 100 constituencies (parliaments and states) had been racially re-delineated so Chinese votes were diluted for Chinese candidates. This is one of the main reasons why DAP candidates have consistently lost in elections since the 1970s.

(50) Only 3 out of 12 human rights items are ratified by the Malaysian government since 1960.

(51) 0 - elimination of all forms of racial discrimination (UN Human Rights) has not been ratified by Malaysian government since 1960s.

(52) 20 reported cases whereby Malay ambulance attendances treated Chinese patients inhumanely, and Malay government hospital staffs purposely delayed attending to Chinese patients in 2003. Unreported cases may be 200.

(53) 50 cases each year whereby Chinese, especially Chinese youths, are being beaten up by Malay youths in public places. Police reports may be checked to verify this, provided the police took the report, otherwise there will be no record.

(54) 20 cases every year whereby Chinese drivers who accidentally knocked down Malays were seriously assaulted or killed by Malays.

(55) 12% is what ASB/ASN got per annum while banks fixed deposits are only about 3.5% per annum.

Eligible voters, think before you vote. I'm not of legal age yet =)

Negaraku

Our government has a little problem dealing with the 3 races lately, have they?

Well, there's another something about our country you guys should know. This might be old, but some of you might still not know about it.

Malaysia's national anthem, Negaraku, is actually an edited version of a 1947 Hawaiian love song! How about that! Here's the vid:

And the lyrics!

One day I walked along
a moonlit island shore;
And soon i heard a song
I’ve never heard before.

I said, "Who can it be?"
to sing so tenderly;
and saw a dust he made
with lonely serenade.

Mamula moon,
shine high above the southern sea;
and like my love
say form again to me.

We said goodbye,
beside the blue lagoon;
alone am I
with you Mamula moon.

I waved my hand,
the grey ship sailed across the bay;
on golden sand
that might I melt to pray.

That i might see
my love returning soon;
still true to me
and you Mamula moon.

Back?

Ching, ching, ching! The blogger is back! Well not really, just using my blog as a place to pour my feelings again. Well, it used to be what my blog was made for at first, until I started targeting more and more readers. That was when I stopped pouring my feelings and start writing what people like to read. Those were still genuine opinions, just that I stopped getting too personal.

I wonder if hearts can go numb and stop feeling anything. I think mine just did. I realised it months ago but brushed it off. I used to get excited during outings, feel happy when I'm with friends, feel sad when I watched a sad show... But it has been long since I felt all these. I don't feel excited when I go anywhere with anyone, even on vacation. I stopped having those really happy feelings, you know, those feelings like when you're having real nice fun with your friends. I watched so many touching shows and read so many touching stories without a tingle in my heart, nor did I shed a tear. My heart just doesn't feel anything. And I don't know why.

Yet, my temper is uncontrollably bad. It can rise to the peak even at the slightest provoke. All I feel is anger, anger and more anger. It's like can't be bothered with anything anymore. I used to feel extreme sadness if I got a bad result, even with a single B or C. But now, even failing subjects couldn't affect my emotions. It's like I'm emotionless. Of course I smile around people and chat along but, I don't feel what I used to feel. In fact I don't feel human at all. I feel like an animal, with no emotions and all...

When you are sad, there's a part in your chest that hurts really bad, right? I don't feel that anymore. It's like a part of my heart has died. I don't know, cause of the past depression? My cells must be reproducing too slow and extincted -_-" I NEED HEART CELLS. Not only my heart, my brain feels dead too. I can't even solve simple mathematical questions and my Additional Mathematics has deteriorated from a 1A to a G (fail). I can't think at all. Brain dead, heart dead.

The lack of emotions make me feel that life is meaningless too, since there is no more happiness and excitement to look forward to.

Wonder what's happening -_-

Leaving

Guess I'd better update on my disappearance or people might file a report to the police on my disappearance xD

Well, I'm not kidnapped, I wasn't grounded or anything, nor did I committed suicide. I still go online without fail everyday BUT! I have lost interest in blogging unfortunately =( And so goes my ambition of being a full time blogger in the future, lol. I've returned to reading about space and matters in space. Oh, and guess what, I FOUND A BOOK ABOUT BLACK HOLES BY STEPHEN HAWKING! My mum said that my uncle bought it out of interest but failed to complete the book because he dislikes reading. It looks kinda old now, but meh =D IT'S STILL ABOUT BLACK HOLES OMG.

I can't stop imagining about how the universe formed. The Big Bang theory is a little weird and no, I don't believe that God created the universe with a snap of His finger. Unless you tell me how God was created (a logical explanation), or I still won't accept His existence. LOL at the capital letters. So yeah, I'm an atheist. So sue me =)

From my imaginations, death is just like sleeping. It's the exact feeling. Except that you don't dream. I mean, when you have dreamless sleeps, your mind doesn't even know that you're sleeping. In fact, it doesn't even know anything. It's just... I should say, temporarily dead. The difference of sleep and death is only between being temporary and permanent. SO! I've been awake for long hours lately, slept little too. I mean, I get to sleep forever when I grow old! FOREVER! I don't get to enjoy my life forever, lol. Sleep is bad =D

*Rummages brain for unproved theories I've made up so far* Can't think of any so far =/

OH YEA! A little brain exercise now. Nope, not IQ questions. Here it goes:

Have you imagined nothingness before? I mean like, TOTAL NOTHINGNESS? Not even colour exist. If you're imagining a whole world which is pitch black, you're imagining wrong. It's black, and it's a colour. And to see black, you need something to show that colour. So it's not nothingness. Same goes if you imagined nothingness as pure white. There's gotta be something to make something or somewhere white too! I can't imagine nothingness. Can you?

I don't think anyone ever can. If there is nothing, then how do you imagine it? Even if you could, there would be nothing to explain about, because there's just nothing there! You know, NOTHINGNESS! Okay, you guys must be thinking that I'm too bored now xD But seriously, trying to imagine the truly unimaginable is fun =)

Okay, THIS IS A SUPA DUPA LONG ENTRY! I wonder how I even managed to type such a long post ._. I'm not gonna be leaving forever, I'll be back when I have something good to announce/something nice I think I want to share... So you guys can come and check here once every few months and you might spot a mini update. Or a long one. Or you might see nothingness. Or nothing. Whatever.

8 Random Facts About Me

Got tagged by JJzai more than a week ago, and I almost forgot to complete it XD

---o-o-o---

Rules of the tag

* Each blogger must post these rules first.
* Each blogger starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
* Bloggers that are tagged need to write on their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
* At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
* Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

Okay, let me get started with the facts :)
Fact #1: I'm a banana wannabe (a predictable fact #1, lol)

Fact #2: I procrastinate.
I tend to delay tasks until the last minute and frequently burn the midnight oil because of this. I will change soon. Oh yes, veeeeery soon :) Tomorrow. No, the day after tomorrow. No, next week, I swear. Err, maybe in a fortnight's time. Okay, next month! Oh, fine, by the end of this year! Yes, yes. Procrastination is eating up my life.
Fact #3: I'm addicted to the internet.
I have a weird addiction. I'm not obsessed over the internet for a reason. I'm just obsessed because I'm obsessed. As long my taskbar shows "You are connected.", my heart will immediately be contented. I don't even have to touch my computer, I just have to know it's connected. I guess my heart needs the internet to beat.
Fact #4: I'm lazy.
I don't always hand in my homework on time. I just hate doing things that I don't like to do, but since adults always misinterpret "uninterested" as "lazy", I might as well put this fact.
Fact #5: I hate cleaning up.
I don't clean my room (or the living room which I sleep in). I strewn my books all over on my desk in school until school finishes. My cupboard which has been ransacked by me months ago still has its status maintained. I never do household chores. I hate washing the dishes.

Meh, I even handed in a feedback form to the prefect's board commenting on how too many prefects are to clean the prefect's room everyday, and they should take turns MONTHLY to clean. It was accepted and my turn is in October. Yay! No more all-year-round duties! :P
Fact #6: I hate shopping.
I really don't know why a lot of girls like shopping. I don't know why I don't go, "OMG, LOOK AT THAT DRESS! I'm sooooooo gonna get it someday!" when I pass by a gorgeous looking dress. And I don't even own a dress. Or a skirt (besides my school uniform). I don't have any fancy accessories except for the earrings I bought more than 3 years ago, and I don't even wear them, lol.
Fact #7: I hate stupid people (in sense of mentality, not studies)
If you're bad at your studies, it doesn't mean that I won't like you, cause it doesn't mean that you're stupid. You might be just uninterested :) I really don't know how to describe someone stupid, they just... are. Especially those who don't read. They'd rather ask you a tonne of questions and piss you off, and they still have to READ YOUR REPLIES OFF THEIR SCREENS. Stupid, isn't it?

Another kind of stupid people, are those who use excessive short forms or stupid "funky" typing "styles" which annoys the shit out off me.

Example of excessive short forms:

wt?? bt i duno ur frm tt class o....

Is it so hard to type that few extra alphabets to make your sentences more readable? Will your fingers break from typing "too much"? Vowels murderers.

Example of stupid "funky" typing "styles":

wahs!`` sh0 kAwaii nerhhx!!`` iie osh0 wan oohx ^^`

This one is worse -_- You call this STYLE? You... you... language hijackers. I wonder what's up with those kawaii-girl wannabes and their extra 'S's, 'X's, 'I's and other alphabets, the ` symbol, and their "O"s becoming zeroes. And I suspect that this kind of people have Parkinson's disease. Poor them. They seem to shiver while they type.
Fact #8: I'm an atheist (This is what I believe in)
The existence of God just doesn't sound logic to me, sorry to all worshipers of God out there. I believe what I see, distrust what I have not, no matter how many people agree with it, or how true it sounds. Same goes to my disbelief of the existence of ghosts. I wouldn't mind hitching a ride to a temple to get my eyes "yin and yang powers", which superstitious people say that people can see ghosts after rubbing some (I don't know holy or unholy) substances on my eyes. SEE TO BELIEVE! :) But I don't believe I will ever see a ghost, not in this lifetime, lol.

---o-o-o---

Phew, I've finally complete the tag! *wipes sweat* Hope you guys enjoyed reading the disgusting truth about me :P And I have to tag another 8 more people, but I don't know who to tag... Ahh! Ideas pop out just at the right time.

Anyone who reads this and is willing to complete this tag, please complete it and leave a message to me and I'll list your name here, with links to you too!

People who completed this tag:

Ghosts

Everytime a ghost movie hits the cinemas, do you realize that there is something in common in EVERY of them?

WHY IS THE GHOST ALWAYS A LADY WITH LONG BLACK HAIR COVERING HER FACE?

This is discrimination! I demand to see guy ghosts. What's up with ghosts all being female? Or little kids? And what's with the long hair covering the face? And the flowing white gown? And the huge empty eyes?

Seriously, if I were a ghost, I'd comb my hair and wear beautiful clothing. I'll even get a stylish haircut, short maybe, and I'd still scare people cause I'm dead. I don't need to look like this to scare people:

I can even scare people with just my hair - I don't need even a touch of makeup!

WAHAHAHA! Beat that! :P

All I need is my baju kurung school uniform and untied hair. Yes, yes, you can start lining up and strike me a deal to star in the next horror movie. What? NO NEED MAKEUP LEH! Pro actress here! And it's not photoshopped too! Natural scariness! You can start calling me a narcissist.

Despite experiencing deja vu in the cinemas everytime a horror movie is released, I don't deny that I am a big fan of ghosts movies. Why? I don't know. Perhaps it's fun to predict when something is going to pop out of no where just by judging the sound effects and lightings? And those people who are frightened by ghosts in the movies are stupid, not the actor but the role they play. They either:
  1. Stay in a house they know is haunted.
  2. Venture into the dark ALONE. And why can't they on the lights? -_-
  3. Check out the place after hearing a noise, knowing that something is going to pop out.
  4. Like to split into individual groups when danger is lurking. My advise: "Together we stand, divided we fall."
Stupid, ain't it? But that's what that makes ghost movies scary. If a movie features a huge group of people successfully vanquishing a demon, it would be deemed as "not scary at all".

I used to shiver every time I walk into the toilet when I was little. Almost every little kid is afraid of toilets because of "ghosts". But then, what's with ghosts and toilets? Not like the toilet smells nice. I'd haunt a luxury suite if I were a ghost. No wait, I'd haunt the internet!!! Muahahahaha, BWAHAHAHAHA!! *ahem ahem* Angelina, please remember that ghosts don't exist.

Yes, I don't believe in ghosts. Why? Because I haven't seen one before. Or sensed one.

"See to believe."

Grades

Sorry for the long delay between the last post and this! *Does a 182 degrees bow* Sorry! Sorry! Sorry! Was really tired and busy after the camp, who wouldn't be after venturing into the forest every single day? Yes, with permission. I don't even have the time to sneak out cause we had a night-walk. Was soaked wet from head to toes every single day, who can resist that clear, cooling and irresistibly looking river? One thing I can say about Ulu Yam (or Bulu Ayam as we call it), it's COLD THERE! My guts were shivering until I couldn't even speak in the morning. Really la, my guts.

So back to topic. Grades. I looked at my primary school report card and suddenly saw the big mistake in our secondary examination grading system. They tend to emphasize on straight A's, and that is what students target. I remembered when I was in primary school, if I got 75% in any of my subjects, it is considered VERY low to my teachers, and I tend to get a scolding. Back then, our positions in class is based on our average marks. I got straight A's most of the time but my positions ranged from 10 to even 40 (we had about 50 students in each class). This motivates me to strive for the best in each and every subject.

However, if your position is based on how many A's you get, students tend to aim for the number 75.

Take this for an example:
  1. Student A takes 11 subjects, got straight 1A's with marks of 75% each.
  2. Student B takes 12 subjects, got 11 1A's of 85% each, and a 2A of 74%.
Which of them is more likely to get a scholarship? The one with straight 1A's! This is why students strive for GOOD GRADES instead of excellence. You might get first in the class with just an average score of 75% in secondary school. Whereas for me, I was at the 38th position in class with an average score of 86% when I was in primary school. Now which is more motivating? Good enough grades or perfection?

Now I wonder why we take so many subjects and become the Jack of all trades, and the Master of none. We're not going to have 12 jobs later in life anyway. So many things to concentrate on simply pulls us further and further from our main interest, uncertain of what we really want to pursue.
